General description
You will lead and organize both internal and external group members in mechanical engineering work for full lifecycle product development with focus on quality. The job includes development and evaluation of mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting trial programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermo mechanics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials.
Leadership
- Lead and coordinate internal and external resources
- Contribute in mechanical design work
- Structure and organize mechanical engineering work
- Technical leadership in mechanical engineering
- Manage schedules, quality requirements, and budget
- Competence development for the group
- Work environment responsibility for direct reports
Duties, systems, standards, methodologies, etc.
- Prepare documentation for production for projects, engineering changes, and customized products - e.g. drawings and bill of material
- Responsibility for functionality and availability of CAD system, PDM system, software for mechanical calculations (FEM), and related hardware
- Knowledge to design and calculate mechanical constructions according to relevant PED directives
- Perform risk analyses for mechanical constructions, according to CE directives
- Manage certification process for mechanical constructions according to relevant internal and external standards
- Coordinate 3-party verifications, e.g. according to ASME and CRN directives
- Support Sourcing department in contacts with sub-suppliers
- Plan and evaluate laboratory and field trials of components and products
- Lead projects occasionally, in a lean development environment
- Optimize existing constructions regarding quality, functionality, user friendliness, and design for manufacturing
- Actively search and suggest solutions for mechanical design problems
Qualifications
You have a M.SC in Mechanical engineering or equivalent and work experience from project management, people management, and design for manufacturing. It is an asset to have experience from pulp and paper industry. It is an advantage if you have worked in organizations which have been successful in Lean and Six Sigma. Good computer skills and a good command of English, both verbal and written, are essential.
